Kenleigh Products in the 21st Century

        A Design Advantage

When Kenleigh Industries first introduced its product line in 1959, we provided notable sonic and aesthetic advantages to our clientele. We introduced the first subwoofer (which we referred to as a “deep bass system”) and the first dedicated center channel, available to consumers, as well as offering our customers the opportunity to have superior music reproduction integrate both sonically and aesthetically into their living environment.

In the mid 1960’s we began introducing rear/surround speakers to our customers while using a matrix decoding system to reproduce the correct ambient “surround sound” perspective from stereo recordings.

By the late 1960’s Kenleigh Industries was investing its research and development efforts into reducing the visual impact of its speakers without compromising sound reproduction.

From the very beginning, our clientele, both in the studio and in the home, were lovers of music, rather than being the equipment-oriented hobbyists that would later be termed “audiophiles”.

Throughout our development, Kenleigh has continued to promote high resolution, true realism, aesthetic integration and placement flexibility. Kenleigh has never promoted sonic exaggeration* or required clients to “build their rooms around their sound systems”.

In 2007 we find that “high-end audio boutiques” are falling by the wayside in increasing numbers… minimal quality sound equipment is being sold on the Internet in ever-increasing quantities… and overall, the ability for home listeners to find sources of truly realistic sound reproduction for music and movies, at a sensible cost, has diminished... rather than increased... over the past decade. Added to this is the fact that there are far fewer well-informed sales people for consumers to query than there were ten years ago.

Kenleigh Dealers have a distinct and ongoing advantage in this environment of exaggerated sonics and pricing on the one hand and the diminished quality of sound and information on the other hand.

Kenleigh Dealers can provide superb sounding, design-integrated, speaker systems for those who wish to invest in realism and quality. In addition, Kenleigh Dealers have the highest level of capability to be of good counsel and to fulfill a customer’s requirements, budget and desires in a manner that integrates outstanding sound reproduction with the client’s decor, their lifestyle and their audio/video environment.

That is the Design Advantage offered by Kenleigh Industries and its dealers.

* Sonic Exaggeration being, amongst other things, excessive and unrealistic “3-D” characteristics superimposed on music… or glaring treble, o“boomy”, exaggerated bass… rather than refined, accurate, expressive highs and bass. Over time, these [or any other] sonic exaggerations will become fatiguing and irritating to the ear…  much like excessive make-up becomes annoying to the eye.
